Bitcoin produces blocks through computing power, while Ethereum no longer uses mining rigs. What’s the difference?
My understanding: Proof of Work protects the ledger through real investments in computing power and electricity. To rewrite historical records, you’d need to control most of the network’s computing power, which comes at an extremely high cost.
Bitcoin produces a block about every 10 minutes, and mining difficulty is adjusted every 2016 blocks.
My current approach: When comparing which chain is more secure, don’t just compare consensus mechanisms. The distribution of validators and software quality matter too.
A quick look: $BTC is currently at 83246.33, 24h -0.21%.
