📉 $770 million liquidated overnight—both longs and shorts got wiped out! In today’s episode, we’ll explain what liquidation actually is 👇

1ïžâƒŁ What is liquidation?
When you trade futures, your margin is your “lifeline.” If the market moves against you and your losses are about to eat up your margin, the exchange will forcibly close your position—that’s liquidation. In the past 24 hours, $685 million in long positions were liquidated, turning all those longs who chased the rally into fuel.

2ïžâƒŁ Why does the price fall faster and faster?
It’s called a “liquidation cascade.” When a large number of long positions are forcibly closed, they’re sold off, pushing prices lower—which triggers even more long liquidations and sets off a chain reaction. So when the market plunges, don’t rush to “buy the dip with high-leverage longs”—you could be the next batch of fuel.

3ïžâƒŁ Three survival rules for beginners
✅ The lower the leverage, the better. Stay under 5x while you’re learning.
✅ Set a stop-loss for every trade in advance, so you decide how much you’re willing to lose.
✅ Build your position in stages—don’t go all in at once.

Some additional context: Spot ETFs saw net outflows of more than $1.2 billion last week, and Bitcoin is down nearly 6% since the start of the year. Institutions are also taking a cautious wait-and-see approach. When the macro environment is risk-off, it’s even more important to proactively reduce leverage.
