【Market Brief】In its October Global Financial Stability Report, the IMF noted that more than half of the tokenized U.S. stock trades in its sample took place outside regular Wall Street trading hours, and around 80% of individual trades were for less than one share, highlighting investors’ demand for fractional U.S. stock investing and round-the-clock trading. However, the report also cautioned that the realized volatility of these tokenized stocks was about 50% higher than that of traditional stocks, while liquidity across fragmented trading venues was noticeably weaker.
