Breeden at the Bank of England has laid it out plainly: there’s no rush to launch a digital currency—stablecoins and tokenized deposits are enough. If even the central bank can’t be bothered to get into the fray, it shows that the on-chain dollar system is already ahead. The pound’s slow progress, in turn, leaves a wider opening for stablecoins.
