About 239 minutes until the next settlement. I’m watching the 4-hour funding rate for $BLUR , at -0.3434%, to see whether it eases a bit before settlement.

An extremely negative funding rate is easy to read as a sign that shorts are crowded and about to get squeezed. I don’t think the current numbers support that conclusion yet. The current price is 0.01248, down 33.3% over the past 24 hours, while the mark price is holding at 0.01237. The price hasn’t bounced just because shorts are paying. A negative funding rate only tells us that shorts are paying; paying and being forced to exit are not the same thing. The 24-hour trading volume is $39.47 million—not exactly inactive—but this funding rate alone doesn’t show that shorts have already backed off.
