Long-term holders are up 72%, with a cost basis of $48,600

On-chain data: Bitcoin long-term holders have an average cost basis of $48,600, about 72% below the current price. They’ve been in profit continuously since January 2023. This cost-basis line peaked at $49,500 on July 30, then fell 1.7%. In the 74 days since August 1, weekly changes were negative on 60 days, with the latest reading at -0.06%.

The decline is still moderate, and coins are gradually changing hands. As long as the cost-basis line doesn’t start falling faster, this rally can hold up. If weekly changes turn positive again, it means the old hands are quietly adding to their positions.

Those of you holding spot, what’s your cost-basis range? Raise your hand if it’s below $70,000.
