Binance, the global digital-asset exchange, is considering launching products that would allow users to invest in South Korean stocks, Digital Asset reported on October 13.
Richard Teng, Binance's co-chief executive officer, told Fortune at the TOKEN2049 event in Singapore that many users have expressed interest in investing in South Korea's top 10 companies by market value. Binance is reviewing that demand and looking to offer related products.
The markets being considered for such investment products include not only South Korea, but also Hong Kong, Taiwan and Brazil. The company did not disclose specific target stocks or a launch timeline.
Binance has recently been expanding into traditional financial assets, including U.S. stocks and commodity derivatives. Teng said stock tokenization could create new investment opportunities for investors who have struggled to access global financial markets because of geographic constraints.
