Common proof-of-reserves systems use a Merkle tree to organize all users’ balances, allowing each user to verify whether their balance has been included using their own Merkle path.
Binance launched its proof of reserves in November 2022 and added zk-SNARK zero-knowledge proofs in February 2023.
