WUSDT perpetuals down 31% in 24 hours: OI cools after a massive flush, but rebound remains unconfirmed

Bottom line: WUSDT has seen a clear surge in volume during its decline. Although it is now consolidating near the lows around $0.019, it is too early to call this rebound a reversal. In the short term, first watch whether support at 0.01828 holds, then whether a full 4-hour close can reclaim the 0.01918–0.020455 recovery zone.

At 14:22 Beijing time on October 13, the latest Binance spot WUSDT price was approximately 0.019670, down 31.224% over 24 hours. The 24-hour high and low were 0.031750 and 0.018330, respectively, with spot trading volume of approximately 40.57 million USDT. The perpetual mark price was around 0.019602, and the index price was approximately 0.01964985. There was no unusually large price gap between spot and perpetual markets.

Based on the completed candlesticks, the full daily candle for October 12 opened at 0.022006, surged to a high of 0.031880, fell to a low of 0.018702, and closed at 0.018901, with trading volume of approximately 725 million USDT. The previous day's trading volume was about 89.78 million USDT. Volume expanded roughly eightfold, but the close returned to near the day's low, suggesting a high-volatility washout rather than a trend breakout confirmed by price and volume.

The 4-hour chart also shows selling pressure being released in a concentrated burst. The completed candle for 08:00–12:00 Beijing time opened at 0.018901, reached a high of 0.020455, dropped to a low of 0.018280, and closed at 0.019180, with trading volume of approximately 42.1 million USDT. The current 12:00–16:00 candle has not closed yet, so any intraday surge or pullback should not be treated as a confirmed signal in advance.

Leverage data has yet to provide strong evidence of a reversal. OI fell from approximately 674.16m contracts, with a notional value of 14.07m USDT, about 11 hours ago to approximately 649.80m contracts and 12.59m USDT most recently. That represents a decline of about 3.6% in contract count and 10.5% in notional value. Over the past six hours, OI contract count and notional value have edged back up, indicating some buying back at lower levels, but the increase is limited and not enough to show that new longs are now in control. The latest settled funding rate was approximately -0.043293%/8h, while the current funding rate field is approximately -0.048418%/8h. A negative rate indicates greater crowding on the short side; it does not mean the price must rebound.

Here is what to watch next: First, 0.01828 is the low of the latest completed 4-hour candle. If the price breaks below it decisively and the candle fails to close back above it, the weak structure remains in place. Second, 0.01918–0.020455 is the first recovery zone; only a move back above this range and a hold there would count as an initial recovery. Third, 0.021590–0.024398 is a stronger resistance band. Until a completed 4-hour candle confirms a close above it, an intraday touch should not be treated as a breakout.

The above is a market overview based on publicly available Binance market data, candlesticks, OI, and funding rates, and does not constitute investment advice. Data changes with market conditions, especially for the current unclosed candle, so it should be reassessed against subsequent closing prices.
