🚨 BTC sharply decouples! Korean stocks plunge over 6%,
$83,000 reclaimed—who's supporting the market ahead of CPI?

📉 Asian tech stocks face a fierce sell-off, but Bitcoin stages a turnaround!
Early Tuesday, BTC briefly fell below $81,000 before climbing back above $83,000. Meanwhile, South Korea’s KOSPI plunged more than 6% at one point, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix both fell around 8%, and Nasdaq futures also slipped.
A signal worth watching has emerged: as traditional tech assets came under pressure, Bitcoin did not continue to fall in tandem—it rebounded from its lows. 🔥
But don’t rush to assume the market has reversed. A short-term rebound suggests selling pressure has eased somewhat, but it doesn’t mean market risks have disappeared.
🌏 Why is BTC rebounding while global markets fall?
First, Korean chip stocks are under pressure amid concerns that AI-related assets are overvalued, as well as growing competition from Chinese memory chipmakers. Falling Nasdaq futures also reflect cooling risk appetite for tech stocks.
Second, energy markets are also unsettled. WTI crude is near $92.67 a barrel, while Brent is hovering around $106. Middle East tensions and shipping risks in the Strait of Hormuz are stoking concerns about supply disruptions and inflation. Persistently high oil prices could limit the Fed’s room to cut rates, or even heighten concerns about tighter monetary policy. The U.S. Dollar Index is also hovering around 102.50, putting pressure on risk assets.
📌 The real test is Thursday’s CPI report!
What the market needs to watch most right now is not just whether BTC can hold above $83,000, but whether expectations for the path of interest rates will shift after the U.S. inflation data is released.
Paul Howard, an executive at market maker Wincent, believes some institutions may not sharply reduce their crypto holdings outright, but instead manage downside risk through derivatives and hedging strategies.
This means institutional hedging does not necessarily signal a wholesale exit—but it also doesn’t mean investors are actively buying the dip.
