Institutions are playing with 20x cross leverage

Two addresses under BIT each scooped up 12,000 ETH this morning, for a total of 24,000. Their average prices were $2,420 and $2,422. The trades were synchronized like a copy-paste job—clearly the same hand on the keyboard. 20x cross leverage, a $60 million position, and $2.19 million in unrealized profit. Not a huge gain, but a pretty aggressive move.

With 20x cross leverage, a 5% drop in ETH would leave that $60 million position fielding liquidation calls. They’re only about a hundred bucks away from the liquidation price. Institutions are no different from retail traders when it comes to leverage—the only difference is that if they get liquidated, they can still issue a press release.

ETH is currently at $2,512, up 3.8%. Would you dare to follow them in with 20x leverage at this price, or play it safe and hold spot, waiting for a pullback to $2,420?
