#evernorth纳斯达克首日收跌1.05%
[Old Leek’s Take] Want to bet on XRP? There’s another option, but it may not be a better deal
Evernorth closed down 1.05% on its Nasdaq debut, ending the day at $16.91. More than its first-day performance, I want to talk about the choice it offers investors.
The company holds about 473 million XRP, so some may see XRPN as a way to bet indirectly on XRP. But remember: stocks and tokens are not the same kind of asset.
Buying XRP directly means taking on mainly price volatility and related risks, such as those involving trading platforms. With XRPN, in addition to XRP’s price, you also face the company’s valuation, share dilution, operating costs, and whether the stock trades at a premium or discount to its net asset value.
If XRP rises in the future, XRPN won’t necessarily rise more. And if the market’s valuation premium for it narrows, the stock could perform poorly even if XRP’s price barely falls.
Conversely, if the company manages its assets effectively and steadily increases the amount of XRP represented by each share, the market may be willing to assign it an additional premium.
So you can’t simply think of it as “XRP in stock form.”
