Armed intruders in the UK steal $800,000 in home invasion

On October 13, crypto KOL realist was held at knifepoint during a home invasion at his residence in the UK. $40,000 was transferred from his wallet, $720,000 in his Ledger cold wallet was drained, his Rolex was stolen, and his phone was smashed.

That $720,000 in the cold wallet made up more than 80% of his holdings. Ledger stores private keys offline, but when someone has a knife to your throat, it’s hard for anyone to refuse to authorize a transaction. Hardware wallets protect against remote hackers, not physical violence from someone standing behind you. When incidents like this happen, high-net-worth players in the crypto community immediately think about splitting up their holdings and reducing single points of exposure.
