$龙虾 📢 Crypto Briefing | October 13
1️⃣ BTC trades sideways at 82,500 on CPI eve as volatility contracts to 38% The 24-hour range is 81,800–84,352, with BTC currently at 82,500–82,756 (-1.0%); implied volatility has fallen to 38% as the market stays firmly on the sidelines. 82,500 is key support, and tomorrow’s CPI will set the direction.
2️⃣ “Big brother hasn’t moved, but the little guys are already flying”: altcoins lead with 3% gains The CoinDesk 80 small- and mid-cap index rose 3%, 2.5 times the gain of large-cap coins; LayerZero +18%, Filecoin +13.5%, ICP +12.7%, and NEAR +11.5%. Capital is starting to rotate into altcoins.
3️⃣ Ethereum Foundation sells $11.13 million, while whales buy the dip ETH fell 6.9% to 2,530, with ETF net outflows of $542 million; but $34 million rotated from BTC to ETH on-chain, Bitfinex longs hit a four-year high, and the bull-bear divide is widening.
4️⃣ Binance’s share of ETH futures open interest rises to 49%, the highest since 2023 As ETH fell from 2,775 to 2,500, Binance’s share of futures open interest climbed against the trend, suggesting big players are positioning for ETH on Binance.
5️⃣ Tomorrow brings a double event: CPI and a BNB burn The U.S. September CPI report is due October 14 (8:30 p.m. Beijing time), and BNB’s 37th burn is expected to destroy 1.65 million tokens on October 15. Both major catalysts are clustered in the second half of this week.
📊 Sentiment: Cautious and on the sidelines. Volatility contracting ahead of CPI points to a sharp move once the data is released; altcoin activity suggests capital hasn’t left—it’s waiting for a signal. A break below 82,500 puts 80,000 in view; holding above 84,000 could signal the start of a rebound.
