ETH/BTC Falls Below 0.03: Has the Market Really Abandoned Ethereum?
ETH is clearly showing weakness today.
Its price is hovering around $2,480, down nearly 2.8% over the past 24 hours.
But more noteworthy than the price drop is that
ETH/BTC has fallen below 0.03.
This is the first time it has reached this level since August.
Many people see this and immediately think Ethereum has no chance.
But markets are rarely that simple.
ETH/BTC weakness shows that investors are favoring BTC.
When risk appetite declines, funds typically flow back to the most liquid assets first.
ETH and other major altcoins naturally face greater selling pressure.
But there’s another detail today:
a very large transaction took place in the market.
A whale sold about 837.8 BTC and bought around 27,501 ETH,
for a total of nearly $69.7 million.
The average purchase price was around $2,534.
This transaction doesn’t prove that ETH is about to reverse,
but it does at least show that some large investors have started shifting assets at this level.
The real question isn’t how much ETH someone bought,
but whether more funds will follow.
If ETH can climb back above $2,500
and ETH/BTC stops falling,
the market may view this pullback as a temporary overreaction.
But if ETH falls below $2,400
and ETH/BTC continues to slide,
that would show its relative weakness is not over.
For traders,
it’s unwise to go long right now just because a whale bought in.
A more sensible approach is to watch whether ETH can hold key support,
then see whether funds flow back into Ethereum once BTC stabilizes.
There may still be opportunities in ETH,
but what’s needed now isn’t faith—
it’s price confirmation.
