Overnight, $BTC fell back from 84,000. It’s now at 81,870, down 2.5% in 24 hours. The trending topics are still talking about “back above 84,000,” but the market isn’t buying it. $ETH is down 4.3%, and $SOL is down 7%—falling even harder than the big guy.

Update → Analysis: Funding rate data is the most revealing. BTC’s funding rate is 0.0021%, so some bulls are still stubbornly paying interest to hold on. ETH’s rate has turned negative (-0.00097%): bulls aren’t even willing to pay interest anymore, and bears are starting to collect. SOL’s rate is still elevated at 0.007%; alongside its 7% drop, that shows bears haven’t let up. What does this mean for positions? The bulls are splitting into factions—some are still holding on in BTC, while ETH bulls have already folded. Going long now means catching a falling knife against the funding-rate trend. At the very least, wait for ETH’s funding rate to turn positive again.

Today, keep an eye on just two numbers. Will 81,000 hold (the overnight low was 81,032)? If it breaks, the next stop is the round-number level of 80,000. And can the price reclaim 82,500? If it does, my bearish call is invalidated. I’ll admit I was wrong right at the start tomorrow—no stubborn excuses.

By the way, have you seen that trending post about “options volatility at a five-year low”? When volatility gets compressed to such an extreme, the next move is often fast and brutal—but the direction hasn’t been chosen yet. Betting on a direction right now is no different from throwing darts blindfolded.
