$ARC 1-hour trading volume was about $7.04 million, 139.9 times the previous average; over the same period, the price fell 38.86%.
A beginner’s honest question: what does a surge in volume actually tell us?
Look at trading volume alongside the candlestick chart: the closing price and the length of the wicks often offer more insight than the trading volume alone.
A spike in volume only means that market participants are more active; it doesn’t prove which side won.
If you’re holding futures positions, keep plenty of margin so a sudden wick doesn’t liquidate your position.
