Binance futures liquidations totaled $96.81 million over the past hour: $95.21 million in long positions (98.3%) and $1.6 million in short positions.
After a liquidation event, I usually look at three things:
① Who got flushed: mostly longs, meaning some leverage has been cleared out;
② The largest liquidation was $BTC ($18.52 million); price swings afterward are usually the biggest;
③ Did open interest also fall? A drop means positions were genuinely closed out; little change means new leveraged positions are entering.
Changes in open interest can show whether a market move is driven by fresh capital or built up on leverage.
