I was the one touting $DOS this morning. It gained nearly 50% yesterday and stole the show; today it’s down 30%. I’ll own this one.
There’s one word for today’s market: a meat grinder. Bitcoin is sitting still at 82K, down one percent—still looks fairly respectable. Ethereum is just above 2,400, quietly taking a beating. Solana’s worse, down over three percent, and XRP is nearly four percent lower. The index hasn’t crashed, but portfolios have. Anyone who was fully invested today probably knows the feeling.
Yesterday’s top gainers are all lying in the losers’ column today. CKB is down nearly 30%. I was watching CKB on the sidelines the day before yesterday and didn’t buy in. Looking back today, the sideline-sitter’s wallet is the healthiest. Only two or three familiar old faces are still hanging on in the rankings, and trading volume is fading too. On days like this, chasing the day’s top gainers will probably just make you exit liquidity for the people who got in yesterday.
A hard-earned lesson: on the DOS trade, the stop was set at 0.2678. Once it broke, I should’ve exited in one go—no excuses. A momentum trade’s fate isn’t decided by the entry, but by the stop-loss. No matter how tempting seven straight green candles look, profits on countertrend trades are only borrowed from the market—and it can take them back whenever it wants. If you don’t accept that today, the market will make you pay it all back, with interest, tomorrow.
Bitcoin at 82K is the only hurdle left for the whole market. If it holds, there’s still room for structural opportunities tomorrow. If it breaks, don’t try to catch a falling knife—let things play out. There’s no shame in staying in cash. In this market, those willing to sit out tend to last longer than those willing to go all in.
The pump belongs to someone else; the principal is mine.
