Seasoned traders know not to be fooled by surface-level price moves. The Nasdaq Golden Dragon Index edged down 0.3%, and the S&P 500 was nearly flat, but the tech sector fell more than 0.9%. What does that tell us? Money is moving out of high-risk tech stocks and seeking safety. Xiaomi and Hesai fell more sharply, while Nio and BYD were also dragged down, leaving Chinese stocks broadly under pressure.

On-chain data shows that the total stablecoin market cap has reached 312.99 billion, with a 24-hour increase of 920 million—that's no small amount. There are signs of new money coming in, but keep in mind that it hasn't fully turned into buying pressure yet. Much of it is still sitting on the sidelines or preparing to rotate into other sectors.

Looking at derivatives market flows: BTC's funding rate is positive (0.0019%), the long-to-short account ratio is 1.60, and the taker buy/sell ratio is 1.91. Bulls have a slight edge, but there’s no major move underway, suggesting that major players are waiting. ETH's funding rate is positive (0.0017%), its long-to-short account ratio is higher at 1.93, and its taker buy/sell ratio is 1.43. Buyers have the upper hand, but their momentum is weaker than BTC's. SOL has pulled back a little, but its funding rate is positive (0.0048%), the highest of the group. Its long-to-short account ratio of 2.72 points to bullish positioning, and its taker buy/sell ratio is 1.21. This suggests that bullish sentiment around SOL is the most overheated—and therefore the riskiest. Any sudden change could trigger a rush for the exits.

BNB has barely moved. Its funding rate is slightly negative (0.0000%), with bears holding a slight edge. The long-to-short account ratio is 2.00, and the taker buy/sell ratio is 1.29. Buyers still have the upper hand, but momentum is lacking.

My take: The broader market is choppy with a weak bias, and money is waiting for a clear direction. The increase in stablecoin supply is a positive sign, but don't rush to buy the dip. BTC and ETH look relatively steady, SOL's bullish trade is too crowded, and BNB remains weak, so it's best to wait and see. Adjust your positions if needed—don't wait until the market has already moved to react.

Where do you think money will flow next: BTC or SOL?
