Oil has topped $105, and tonight’s U.S. market open is anything but calm.

A third supertanker in 48 hours was hit and caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz. Ballistic missiles even reached Fujairah Port in the UAE, while a Houthi attack on Riyadh Airport killed 13 people. Goldman Sachs has raised its Brent forecast, saying the risk premium is already above $20 a barrel, with an extreme-case scenario of $125. Trump’s so-called “energy ceasefire” is also close to falling apart, and Russia has turned around and bombed Ukrainian power plants. This time, energy inflation could really come roaring back.

What’s interesting is that $BTC couldn’t care less about risk aversion. Strategy added another 250 coins and also bought back nearly $200 million in preferred shares. Mining company IREN landed a multiyear AI cloud contract with Anthropic, making the story of miners pivoting to AI sound more and more convincing. And tomorrow, Hong Kong is set to list a spot $SOL ETF.

My take: On days when oil is surging and volatility is high, altcoins will probably fall too. But looking back, the dips created by every panic sell-off have been blood-soaked buying opportunities. Don’t chase highs, manage your position size, and leave the rest to time.
