$RSR The recovery mentioned in the previous post did not hold, so I need to revise my assessment downward. After recovering to 0.002432 between 21:00 and 22:00, the price fell below that level for the next two full hours in a row. The newly completed four-hour period saw higher volume, yet failed to close higher. For now, I’ll watch for support rather than dismissing the pullback because the rolling daily gain remains high.

At 00:05 on October 13, Binance’s RSRUSDT perpetual was quoted at 0.002314, up 41.012% over the rolling 24 hours, with approximately 397.2 million USDT in volume. It ranked second among 523 eligible USDT perpetual contracts. It remains in a high-volatility phase following a sharp intraday rally; the daily gain and whether the current recovery is holding must be considered separately.

The new evidence in the 22:06 post was that the 21:00–22:00 candle closed at 0.002460, moving back above 0.002432, while OI increased 12%. At the time, I updated my assessment to say a recovery was underway, while emphasizing that we needed to see whether the reclaim could hold—not declare a confirmed breakout. The newly completed candles give a weaker answer: from 22:00 to 23:00, the high was 0.002525 and the close was 0.002416; from 23:00 to 24:00, the high fell to 0.002468, the close to 0.002346, and the low was 0.002340. Highs and closes moved lower for two consecutive hours, and 0.002432 failed to become a stable support level.

The broader picture comes from the just-completed 20:00–24:00 period: it opened at 0.002432 and closed at 0.002346, down 3.54%, on approximately 145.1 million USDT in volume, up 36.65% from the 106.2 million recorded between 16:00 and 20:00. The four-hour low remains 0.002305, so it is too early to say the entire range has broken down. But higher volume did not produce a higher close, which is enough to undermine confidence in the earlier reclaim. This is not simply a matter of replacing the previous post’s figures; the brief recovery failed to hold through a full cycle.

Volume in the final hour was approximately 28.28 million USDT, down from 34.03 million between 22:00 and 23:00. Cooling volume during the pullback does not confirm that selling pressure has ended, nor can a candlestick alone establish that large holders are selling. What we can confirm is that price momentum has weakened and the market has not reclaimed the level under observation. If volume picks up later but price continues to spike and then retreat, the efficiency of support will matter more than total volume.

Positions are still increasing, however. From 22:00 to 24:00, OI rose from 5.733 billion tokens to 6.033 billion, an increase of about 5.24%. This decline in price came alongside an expansion in overall open interest; we still cannot identify the direction of the new long and short positions. OI is not net capital inflow, and rising open interest should not be interpreted as bullish by itself. If price continues to weaken while positioning stays elevated, volatility and crowding risks warrant closer attention.

The funding-rate feed for this round has returned the new midnight settlement, which remains negative. A negative funding rate by itself does not prove that shorts are about to be liquidated, nor does it guarantee a rebound; it only reflects the deviation in contract pricing under the relevant settlement methodology. Without liquidation details and evidence of synchronized aggressive spot trading, I won’t attribute the pullback to any particular type of account or use the funding rate to infer a definite path.

Reserve’s official materials describe RSR as a governance and utility token. I rechecked the official pages and news sources, but found no confirmed new announcement from today that could independently explain this move. Earlier governance discussions should not be presented as a fresh catalyst. For now, the focus remains on how price, volume, and positioning are changing.

Next, I’ll watch for support at 0.002340 and near the prior four-hour lows of 0.002311 and 0.002305. The intraday quote at 00:05 was already close to these levels, but the still-incomplete hourly candle cannot be treated in advance as a closing breakdown. On the upside, the first question is whether a subsequent full hourly candle can reclaim 0.002432; only then would it make sense to look toward 0.002468 and 0.002525. If support gives way while open interest continues to rise, I’ll revise my assessment further downward. If price reclaims the level and posts a higher close, that would provide a basis to reassess the recovery.
