Damn, Wall Street has pushed $BTC options volatility to a five-year low! But this time, I actually think the people most likely to lose money aren’t the bears—it’s the ones rushing to bet on a massive spike! 🔥

Guys, 10x Research reports that the implied volatility of near-term Bitcoin options has fallen to 33.5%, close to a five-year low.

Bitcoin has been moving sideways for a while, and a lot of people are getting restless.

The moment they hear options are cheap, they’re ready to buy some calls, hoping BTC will suddenly take off and make back all their previous losses in one go.

But making money from Wall Street isn’t that easy!

Cheap options only mean the market is pricing in relatively low future volatility. They don’t mean a massive rally is just around the corner.

And here’s the painful part: even if you get the direction right, you can still lose money!

Say you bet that BTC will rise. Bitcoin does go up, but too slowly and not by enough—the option’s time value has already eroded significantly.

In the end, the candlestick is green, but your account is in the red. 😂

What’s more, big players had previously bought put options at $78,000 and $80,000.

They buy insurance to protect positions they already hold, while retail traders may treat cheap options like lottery tickets to get rich quick.

My view is clear: BTC still looks promising over the medium term, but low volatility is no reason to blindly pile on leverage.

What matters more now is patiently waiting for a breakout, rather than guessing every day when the next big green candle will appear.

After spending so many years in crypto, I’ve learned that the truly hard part isn’t getting the direction right—it’s actually making money after you do.
