How do Bitcoin and Ethereum differ in the way they record balances?
Ethereum has two types of accounts: externally owned accounts (EOAs), controlled by private keys, and contract accounts, controlled by code.
A UTXO can only be spent once. If the payment amount is less than the value of the UTXO, the excess is treated as change and returned to the sender’s address.
The most important thing to keep in mind when managing your holdings: always receiving funds at the same Bitcoin address exposes your transaction history. Many wallets automatically generate a new address for each incoming payment and for change.
