A $70 million ai.com meets “AI renamed SI.”
Crypto.com founder Kris Marszalek paid $70 million in cryptocurrency this year to buy ai.com, setting a record for the most expensive domain name ever. He also spent more than $10 million on a Super Bowl ad promoting an AI agent platform—only for the website to crash under the traffic on launch night.

On September 29, Trump signed an executive order directing U.S. federal agencies to refer to AI as SI (superintelligence). Elon Musk followed suit, renaming SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI. Daily registrations for Slovenia’s .si domain topped 20,000.

The crypto crowd is especially good at jumping on name trends. Expect a bunch of meme coins with SI in their names to pop up next. Before chasing them, remember: it’s the U.S. government’s paperwork that’s getting a new name—not the fundamentals of the coin you’re holding.
