How do Bitcoin and Ethereum differ in the way they keep records? Don’t worry—the class rep is here with the answer:
Ethereum uses an account model: the blockchain directly records each account’s balance. A transfer deducts funds from one account and adds them to another.
The account model is more like a regular bank account: balances are easy to understand, and writing smart contracts is more intuitive. The trade-off is that transactions from the same account must be processed in nonce order.
If only I’d understood this back then—the tuition I paid could’ve bought me bubble tea for months.
