Flash loans often appear in attack reports, but what exactly are they?
Flash loans can be made without collateral because of transaction atomicity: the entire transaction either succeeds or is rolled back, so borrowed funds cannot be taken away without being repaid.
The borrowed funds, plus the fee, must be returned to the protocol before the transaction ends. Otherwise, the entire transaction is rolled back, as if it had never happened.
Learning this won’t make me an expert overnight, but it can help me avoid one silly mistake.
Don’t invest with borrowed money; it can put you under pressure and lead to bad decisions.
