Bitcoin options implied volatility is at a five-year low. Calm before a big move?
The BTC options market is sending an interesting signal: implied volatility has fallen to around 33.5%, while some traders are still seeking protection against potential declines.
What’s happening?
🔹 Implied volatility is at historically low levels.
🔹 BTC put options with strike prices of $78,000 and $80,000 were bought, reportedly worth up to $204 million.
🔹 This could indicate that some investors are maintaining their exposure to Bitcoin while seeking protection against a correction.

My take: low volatility doesn’t guarantee that the price will rise or fall. What matters is whether the market stays calm or a catalyst emerges that could trigger a sharp move.
Are we seeing an accumulation phase before another rally, or is the market underestimating the risk of a drop?
🟢 BULLISH: Bitcoin is gearing up for its next move higher.
🔴 BEARISH: a correction could still be coming.
🟡 NEUTRAL: the market will continue moving sideways.
