Odaily Planet Daily reports that on-chain investigator ZachXBT shared a statement from the XRP Ledger Foundation about a previously identified critical security vulnerability and criticized its bug bounty program. ZachXBT noted that XRPL holds billions of dollars in assets, yet paid only $250,000 to the white-hat hacker who discovered the critical vulnerability. He argued that such a low reward could discourage security researchers from proactively reporting vulnerabilities, and might even lead attackers to exploit them for much larger gains rather than disclose them responsibly. The XRP Ledger Foundation previously confirmed that the vulnerability could theoretically have bypassed the limit on the total supply of XRP, but no additional XRP was found to have been created as a result. The vulnerability was fixed in version 3.4.1.
