What are Memo and Tag when making a transfer? No worries—your class rep is here to explain:
The Stellar network supports several types of Memo, including text, ID, and hash. A text Memo can be up to 28 bytes long.
Memo / Tag is just a note for the recipient. The blockchain doesn’t check whether it’s correct, so even if you enter it incorrectly, the transfer will still go through.
Knowledge may seem boring at the time, but you’ll be glad you have it when something goes wrong.
