Brothers, Ethereum has bounced a little recently, but I don’t think this downturn is anywhere near over!
First, let’s look at the fund flows.
For the week ending October 9, U.S. spot ETH ETFs saw net outflows of about $542 million, their worst weekly performance since January this year.
Even more painful, ETH ETFs have seen net outflows for nine consecutive trading days, with cumulative withdrawals nearing $697 million!
BlackRock’s ETHA alone saw outflows of about $477 million in one week, accounting for roughly 88% of the market’s total weekly outflows.
What does that tell us?
ETH is still struggling around $2,500, while ETF investors have been pulling their money out for nine straight days!
And it’s not just Ethereum.
Over the same period, spot BTC ETFs reportedly saw net outflows of about $681 million, while Solana-related spot ETFs also had outflows of around $24.8 million.
Together, the three types of products saw about $1.25 billion flow out in a week!
That shows this pressure isn’t focused solely on ETH—the entire crypto market’s risk appetite is cooling.
But why am I especially bearish on ETH?
Because ETH’s biggest problem right now is that the price is trying to rebound, but sustained buying isn’t keeping up.
Looking at the short-term technical structure, although it climbed back above $2,500, this rally hasn’t been accompanied by a significant increase in trading volume.
A rebound without volume behind it looks more like a recovery during a downtrend to me, rather than the start of a new major bull run.
In particular, around $2,587 has become a very important short-term resistance level.
And my view this time is clear:
$ETH I’m staying bearish in the short term!
First target: $2,300!
Second target: $2,155!
So I’m not going to change my tune just because of a few rebound candles.
My view is simple: ETH’s decline isn’t over yet. First $2,300, then $2,155!
The biggest risk right now isn’t missing out on a rally—it’s mistaking a bounce during a downtrend for the start of a new bull market. 😂
