4,393 ETH transferred to Kraken! On-chain activity draws attention, but whether the Foundation is selling remains unconfirmed

An ETH transfer worth approximately $11.13 million has once again drawn market attention to the movements of early Ethereum wallets.

On October 12, Lookonchain reported that two addresses linked to early Ethereum Foundation fund distributions had transferred a total of 4,393 ETH to Kraken.

The news may look like potential selling pressure, but one detail should not be overlooked.

These addresses have historical links to the Foundation, but there is currently no evidence that the transfers were made directly by the Foundation, and it cannot be confirmed that the Ethereum Foundation has sold any ETH.

Deposits to exchanges are certainly worth watching, but treating every deposit as a sale can easily lead to a misreading of the market.

What matters is whether large deposits continue and whether there is evidence of actual selling—not rushing to turn bearish as soon as a transfer appears.

On-chain data can help us spot unusual activity early, but it does not necessarily reveal the purpose behind the funds right away.
