$BTC 84340Every time it pushes up, it gets sold off. Two consecutive bearish candles wiped out the gains from the previous three days. What I’m watching isn’t how much it’s fallen, but the volume: the latest 4-hour candle has a volume ratio of just 0.01, which basically means there’s nobody stepping in to buy.

This rally started at 80344 and climbed nearly 4000 points over five days. On October 8, a large bearish candle on heavy volume plunged to 80901, with $6.37 billion in trading volume. The panic selling was completely flushed out. After that, the bulls pushed the price up bit by bit. The large bullish candle on the afternoon of October 11 surged to 83955 on $1.45 billion in volume, making it look like a breakout was coming. In the early hours of October 12, the price tested 84340 again on $1.997 billion in volume. There was clearly some buying pressure.

But 84340, the resistance level, didn’t give way. It was tested twice, and rejected both times.

The market signals are pretty clear: a rally followed by a pullback, with two bearish candles closing at 83287 and volume getting smaller with each one. This isn’t the pattern of a normal correction. A normal correction is a gradual decline on lower volume, not a surge on heavy volume followed by a pullback on lower volume. The former suggests sellers are holding back; the latter means nobody wants to buy at these high levels.

Market sentiment is cautious. The funding rate is +0.0065%, so the bulls are still paying, but the rate isn’t particularly high, which suggests they aren’t especially aggressive either. Around 83000 is a psychological level, and the price is now moving sideways around it, unable to break higher or lower. Retail traders are probably sitting on the sidelines, while big players already added to their positions during the October 8 move.

You can get a rough idea of what the big players are doing just by looking at the candlestick structure. That wick down to 80901 on October 8 was clearly big money buying. Then the price rallied all the way to 84340, where they started selling. From 80344 to 84340 is nearly a 5% move, which is enough for big players. The pullback on lower volume suggests selling pressure hasn’t fully run its course, but there’s no rush—they have plenty of time to wait for the next level.

Volume and price structure are the key signals. Among the 30 candles, the heaviest volume appeared at two points: the October 8 decline ($6.379 billion) and the October 12 rally to a high ($1.997 billion). The former was panic selling on heavy volume; the latter was a breakout attempt on heavy volume. But the breakout didn’t hold, which is a classic fakeout pattern. We’re already seeing a divergence between price and volume: price made a new high, but there wasn’t enough volume behind it.

Looking at the candlestick details, 83000–83200 is a high-volume trading zone. Four consecutive small-bodied candles on October 10 were stuck in this area, showing that a lot of positions changed hands here. If the price breaks below 83000 later, this zone will turn from support into resistance, and it’ll be hard to reclaim in the short term.

Support is at 82751, the low of the last 10 candles. The price found support here in the early hours of October 11, but that was a pullback on lower volume, unlike the current pullback on heavier volume. If 82751 fails to hold, the next support is around 82200–82300.

Resistance is at 84340. The price has been rejected twice, and for the bulls to challenge this level again in the short term, they’ll need a fresh catalyst. Without supportive news, the price will probably spend some time ranging between 82700 and 83500.

Nini’s plan: Current price: 83287. Neutral to slightly bearish. Don’t chase longs; wait for a pullback. If the price dips toward 82750 on lower volume and stabilizes, try a small long position, with a stop below 82500. If it breaks below 82750 on heavy volume, target 82200 on the downside. Don’t go long unless 84340 is broken. The bigger picture is still intact; the market just needs to digest this short-term pullback after the rally.

BTC has been around since 2015 and has gone through countless corrections like this. After every big rally, people call for a crash; after every correction, others say the top is in. The market never runs short of opinions—it’s discipline that’s in short supply. People fear missing out when prices rise and fear getting trapped when they fall. All that back-and-forth usually costs more than simply sitting tight.

In trading, patience is worth more than cleverness. Wait for signals; don’t try to guess the top or bottom.
