SOL’s drop doesn’t look too steep—just -0.22% over 15 minutes—but there’s plenty happening beneath the surface.

Over 5 minutes, Binance futures liquidation proxy hit 382K. Sell orders were clearly more concentrated, the aggressive trade delta was -13.2%, and the buy/sell ratio fell to 0.77. This isn’t an ordinary pullback; it looks more like longs are being slowly bled out—OI was down 0.33% over 15 minutes and 0.14% over 1 hour, with combined notional changes draining more than 6 million U.

Price down + OI down: a classic deleveraging setup. What’s unusual is that the hourly position contraction ranked third across the entire pool by notional change, with the OI anomaly percentile at 84.1%. It’s continued across several consecutive periods, which suggests this isn’t a one-off move—someone is steadily reducing positions.

24-hour trading volume is still 1.58 billion, so liquidity isn’t an issue, but aggressive selling continues to dominate. In this setup, don’t rush to call a bottom. Wait until liquidation pressure has eased and OI has stabilized.

Long leverage is being flushed out. Be patient.
