Ceasefire order sends oil prices plunging, BTC welded above 84,000, ETH still playing dead

As soon as the energy ceasefire took effect, crude oil plunged and inflation expectations eased. BTC is holding steady above 83,800 today, while ETFs are bleeding funds without batting an eye. That’s how a hard asset is supposed to move.

I’ve said it before: this rally isn’t being driven by anything inside crypto—it’s all about macro. Once tensions around energy ease, risk appetite rebounds across the board, and BTC is right in its sweet spot. Trump moved fast, oil prices fell in response, and the crypto market caught the tailwind.

ETH is looking a bit weak, just sitting around at $2,555. While BTC is climbing on the ceasefire boost, ETH is dragging its feet—the money is picking a leader, and it’s no surprise that the altcoin ranks are falling behind.

XRP quietly pulled off something big: Brazil’s central securities depository moved records of 22 trillion reais in assets onto the XRP Ledger. A national-level custody deployment carries more weight than a thousand promises that the price will go up.

Tonight, let’s see if BTC can weld itself above 84,000. If it holds, next week we’ll see whether the macro story has another round in it.
