The preliminary approval it received in May has now been upgraded to a full market approval, bringing the number of VARA-registered licensees from 49 to 58.
In the coming weeks, Kraken customers in the UAE will be able to trade spot and on margin using dirhams, and deposit and withdraw directly. Retail, professional, and institutional investors are all covered. What matters more to me is that the fiat on-ramp is open—not that any particular coin will be repriced overnight. Whether real money actually flows in will depend on trading volumes once the pairs go live.
