ZROUSDT perpetual up 18% in 24 hours: 4-hour volume surges and OI heats up; 2.4848 still awaits closing confirmation
Bottom line: ZROUSDT perpetual is up approximately 17.97% over 24 hours. The volume on the most recently closed 4-hour candle was approximately 3.17 times that of the previous candle, while notional OI increased by approximately 22.6% across the latest two 4-hour readings. However, 2.4848 is only the current intraday 24-hour high, and the current 4-hour candle has yet to close, so it is too early to say that a breakout has been confirmed.
As of 17:53 Beijing time on October 12, 2026, the latest price of the Binance USDⓈ-M ZROUSDT perpetual contract was approximately 2.4453 USDT, up 17.971% over 24 hours. The 24-hour range was 1.9955–2.4848 USDT, and contract trading volume was approximately 103.77 million USDT. These figures are all for perpetual contracts; they do not represent spot trading volume or net fund inflows, nor can they directly indicate ZRO's circulating market capitalization or FDV.
First, look at the 4-hour candles that have already closed. The candle from 12:00–16:00 Beijing time opened at 2.2034, reached a high of 2.4499, a low of 2.2033, and closed at 2.4315, with a volume of approximately 15.0588 million ZRO. The previous candle, from 08:00–12:00, closed at 2.2035 with a volume of approximately 4.7510 million tokens; the former's volume was about 3.17 times the latter's. Price and volume rose together, indicating a marked increase in participation, but higher volume alone does not prove that the move will continue.
The data boundary is important: the 16:00–20:00 4-hour candle is still forming. As of the time of data collection, it had reached an intraperiod high of 2.4848. The most recent 1-hour candle that had already closed (16:00–17:00) closed at 2.4315 with a volume of approximately 4.8473 million tokens; the hourly candles after 17:00 are still in progress. Therefore, 2.4848 can only be treated as current resistance and a level to watch—not as a confirmed breakout just because price briefly pierced it intraperiod.
Leverage is also picking up. The 4-hour OI snapshots show that at 12:00, open interest was approximately 22.2679 million tokens, with a notional value of approximately 4,706.77 million USDT; at 16:00, the quantity was approximately 23.7293 million tokens, with a notional value of approximately 5,770.86 million USDT. The quantity increased by about 6.56%, and the notional value by about 22.57%. This indicates that open interest expanded alongside the price rise, but OI measures the size of outstanding contracts; it does not equal net capital inflows and cannot, on its own, determine whether the added positions are long or short.
Confirmation conditions still apply on the daily chart. The daily candle for October 11, which has closed, ended at 2.1135 with a volume of approximately 20.6693 million tokens. The October 12 daily candle is not yet complete, so the more accurate description for now is a short-term rise on increased volume—not a confirmed daily trend reversal or breakout.
The latest funding rate reading was approximately positive 0.000764% per settlement interval, a slightly positive value. The mark price was approximately 2.444512, and the index price was approximately 2.448206. There are currently no signs of an extreme funding rate, but perpetual contracts still carry risks of slippage, liquidation, and rapid funding-rate changes amid high volatility.
There are three key levels to watch next. First, 2.4848 is the 24-hour intraperiod high. A close above it on a 1-hour or 4-hour candle, followed by a successful retest, would provide stronger evidence of a breakout. Second, 2.4315 is the close of the most recent completed 4-hour candle; if price can consolidate above it, that would suggest short-term support remains. Third, 2.2035 is the reference close of the previous 4-hour candle. If a subsequent high-volume candle closes back below this level, the current structure of a rise on increased volume should be reassessed as weaker.
Therefore, the more prudent approach at this point is to wait for a 4-hour close and a retest rather than chase the 18% rally that has already occurred. This article summarizes publicly available Binance perpetual contract data and highlights risks; it is not investment advice.
