$BTC has felt these past couple of days like someone who’s just been shoved underwater—you think it’s about to sink, then it pops back up and snatches back $84,000.
On October 12, Bitcoin climbed back above $84,000, trading around that level during the day. What’s more interesting is that last week, U.S. spot BTC ETFs saw about $681 million in net outflows, yet the price didn’t keep sliding. Instead, it reclaimed a key level.
What does that tell us?
At least for now, there are still buyers stepping in below.
I’m less concerned with whether $BTC is up 1% or 2% today. I’m more interested in whether it can turn this rebound from “catching its breath” into “taking back control.”
Two levels matter next:
Below, $82,000–$83,000 remains an important support zone. Above, $85,000–$85,500 is the real hurdle to clear. Until it breaks through that range, $84,000 looks more like a recovery than a genuine return to strength.
And don’t forget: U.S. inflation data is due on October 14.
If the data remains hotter than expected and Treasury yields and the dollar push higher again, BTC could still come under pressure. But if the macro picture doesn’t worsen and $85,000 is broken on strong volume, $87,000 and even the previous high’s resistance zone could be back in play.
So my view is simple:
$84,000 is worth celebrating, but it’s too early to pop the champagne.
True strength isn’t bouncing back. It’s bouncing back and then refusing to fall easily.
