Night-session futures, trade by trade
Whether to take this trade or not—the funding rate is more honest than the candlestick chart.
Futures only care about three sets of numbers. Everything else is noise.
1. BTC 83599, 24h 82975-84352, change +0.68%.
2. BTC open interest notional: $7.85 billion, 24h +1.57%
3. Account-wide long/short ratio: 1.37
My take: The funding rate at 0.0029% is close to zero, and the long/short ratio is 1.37. Leverage hasn't picked a side. If the market hasn't picked a side, don't use high leverage to pick one for it.
Execution range (based on current price ± structure, not an old chart):
- Momentum zone: Only consider chasing after it gets above 84,268. If it doesn't, it's a fake breakout.
- Buy the pullback: 82,596-83,097; don't buy if it loses this range.
- No-trade zone: If the 1h candle closes below 82,094, skip this trade.
My position: I only buy pullbacks; I don't chase breakouts. If the structure holds, I can keep a core position. Any add-on must wait for the pullback zone.
Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing numbers are not filled in.
Would you dare add to your position at this funding rate?

Takeaway: Market depth drops off over the weekend, so market orders are like paying a tax to the spread.
Insight: The Nasdaq is clearly outperforming the S&P 500: stick to growth exposure, don't make up a broad-based bull market.
