The Fear & Greed Index rose from 61 to 69, going from “a little fearful” to “a little greedy” in just two days. But what’s really worth watching is ETH futures: funding rate at -0.0015%, open interest at 5.98B, down 0.4% over 24h, while the price rose 2.43%. Shorts are paying to stay in, and positions are still being closed out.

By contrast, $BTC has a positive funding rate of 0.0020%, open interest at 7.85B, up 0.6% over 24h, and a taker buy/sell ratio of 1.28. Money is genuinely flowing in—just not very quickly.

So this rally isn’t the same story for both: $BTC is being built up gradually with fresh money, while $ETH is being driven by short squeezes. The former faces near-term resistance at 86,296 above 84,219, leaving another 2,000 points of room; the latter’s 1h RSI is already at 72.8, while its daily RSI is only 47.8—the short-term move is overheated, and the medium-term trend hasn’t caught up.
