$ZK up 9%, yet funding has turned negative

Market cap is only 116.6 million, while 24h trading volume has surged to 59.9 million—the order book is smoking.

Just checked: ZK is at 0.016565, up +9.0% over 24h. But the funding rate flipped from +0.0008% to -0.0006%. Shorts are starting to gain the upper hand, and the cost of holding short positions is set to rise.

What’s unusual is OI. Up +29.9%, following this path: 7.1M > 8.0M > 9.6M > 9.2M. The price is rising, and real money is still piling in—not a flash in the pan, and not a low-volume slide.

The news flow is piling up too: nearly 10 related stories, with elevated media attention, including “ZK Tops Layer-2 Crypto Projects in Social Activity Rankings.” Three factors are colliding at once: buzz, funding, and open interest. Negative funding at low levels has lit the fuse for a potential short squeeze; but a negative funding rate also means short-side pressure is growing. This isn’t a one-way signal—both bulls and bears are piling in.

There’s only one takeaway: direction is still unconfirmed, but the cost of holding positions is already rising.

Don’t guess the top or bottom. First, ask yourself whether your leverage can withstand this fuse.

Risk warning: Negative funding doesn’t guarantee a rebound, and a surge in open interest could also mean someone is laying the groundwork for the other side.
