CPI week, and Bitcoin is just sitting there near 83,000. If you only look at the price, you’d think nothing is happening.
Last Thursday it dropped to 80,400, bounced back on Friday, and has been moving sideways in a very tight range ever since. This kind of calm rarely lasts long. On Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Brasília time, the U.S. CPI comes out, and after the Fed’s hawkish minutes, the market is very sensitive to any number that differs from expectations.
Here’s what I’ll be watching:
- 82,200 as the first support, then 80,400
- 83,500 and 87,000 above. It’s already tried twice and failed to break through
- Whether ETF inflows really return. Only about $21 million came in on Friday—not enough to call it a reversal
In practice, I’ll reduce leverage around the CPI release and wait for the initial reaction to pass before doing anything. On days like these, prices often move both ways within minutes, and those who jump in right away usually pay the spread of emotion.
I don’t know where it’s headed. But I do know that a small position and a stop set before the report are cheaper than trying to guess. What about you—will you trade the CPI, or would you rather watch from the sidelines? 👀
This is not investment advice.
