$XDP made it onto the Alpha list, and it’s on Base. The first thing everyone else does is check how much it’s gone up. The first thing I do is dig through the on-chain data—who’s buying, how much they’re buying, and where their cost basis lies. It’s all out in the open, more honest than anything anyone could say.
What really makes a small-cap token dangerous isn’t a lack of volume—it’s when that volume is all in the hands of a few people. When the holdings are concentrated, the price is just a menu at those few people’s dinner table: they can push it up or down whenever they want. Only when holdings are widely distributed can you call it a true change of hands. So don’t rush in. First, figure out whether this money is here for the long haul or just looking to grab a quick bite and get out.
Last week I was still yelling “Let’s go, let’s go!” in the group chat. This week I’ve learned my lesson: first I’ll stay on the sidelines and watch where the money goes on-chain. Price action is the result; whose pockets the money moves from and into is the cause.
