Amazon is reportedly looking to spend $7 billion to acquire AI company Decart. Its core product is software that helps developers migrate across chips—in other words, Amazon doesn’t want to be at Nvidia’s mercy anymore. As cloud providers ramp up development of their own chips, compute costs will eventually start to come down.
