ETH is up 1.6% on the day, quietly outpacing BTC—this rotation is worth watching closely.
Market snapshot (Oct 12, 01:00 UTC)
- BTC: $83,936 | +1.17% | 24h volume: 7,259 coins
- ETH: $2,545 | +1.63% | 24h volume: 195,861 coins
- BNB: $753 | +0.75% | 24h volume: 54,662 coins
My take
BTC is holding above 83K, keeping the short-term structure bullish, but volume remains relatively subdued (just over 7,000 coins). There’s no sign of major players piling in; this looks more like existing capital pushing prices sideways. ETH, on the other hand, is showing relative strength today, outperforming BTC by nearly 0.5 percentage points. Combined with volume of nearly 200,000 coins, this is an early sign that rotation capital is shifting toward ETH. BNB is following the move but has the weakest momentum, so it’s not the main play for now.
At this point, I wouldn’t chase the rally. I’d wait for confirmation in the price structure before getting involved.
Plan
BTC: Key support is around 82,000. If it breaks below that level, I’ll wait on the sidelines for the price to stabilize again. If it breaks above 85,500 on strong volume, I may consider a small position in the direction of the trend. ETH: Support is at 2,480. If it holds and consolidates on declining volume, that would be a relatively comfortable entry zone. Resistance is at 2,620; don’t start dreaming of new highs before a breakout. Overall, I’m sticking to the strategy of “wait for a signal, don’t chase rallies, and manage position size.” There aren’t many liquidity events this week, so further consolidation seems more likely.
If you see this ETH rotation differently, feel free to share your thoughts. More perspectives help sharpen the logic.
