$AXTI is looking interesting at this price. At 70.05, up 3.27% over 24 hours, with 4.3M in trading volume, it looks pretty ordinary.

But few people are paying attention to what it actually is. AXT makes semiconductor substrate materials—things like indium phosphide and gallium arsenide. These aren’t your typical cyclical stocks; AI optical modules, LiDAR, and RF devices all depend on them. The market is focused on computing power and electricity right now, while upstream materials like substrates are flying under the radar.

On-chain, tokenized TradFi assets—gold, crude oil, and U.S. stocks—have recently been trading 24/7. $AXTI is on the board, but volume is light, which suggests the money hasn’t really found it yet. Buyers stepped in at the 67.46 low, and it hasn’t been knocked back down around 70. This doesn’t look like distribution.

My read is that it’s headed up. I’m not saying that just because it’s already risen; it’s the price level combined with what the company does. Once investors realize it’s connected to AI hardware, it could catch up fast. The urgency is real: when a small-cap materials stock like this starts moving, the window to get in can last just minutes.

Keep an eye on it. Don’t wait until it puts up a big green candle to notice.
