XRP wasn’t inflated; 3.4.1 closed a backdoor

The XRPL Foundation has clarified questions about the 3.4.1 security fix. It patched a path for bypassing the rules. Anyone trying to trigger it would have to deliberately construct hundreds of operations, so ordinary transfers aren’t affected. The total supply of XRP has been fixed at 100 billion since the ledger launched. About 99.986 billion are currently in circulation, and transaction fees continue to burn XRP, gradually reducing the supply.

My take: this news isn’t enough to move the market. XRP will still follow the broader market in the short term, so don’t expect the clarification to spark a big rally.
