To sum up the weekend market in one word: grueling.

BTC briefly plunged to $80,300 on Thursday, and many thought we were about to see another “drop below $80K” scenario. But it started rebounding on Friday and is now holding steady around $83,800. One thing to watch, though: the $83,900–$84,200 range is like a wall—it’s been tested twice, but hasn’t been broken through. $83,500 is this week’s key threshold: holding above it would turn short-term sentiment bullish, while a drop back below $82,000 would mean it’s time to watch out for altcoins to sell off across the board.

ETH is looking more indecisive. It’s edged up slightly to around $2,540, but it’s down nearly 9% over the past five trading days. The $2,550–$2,600 range is a key battleground for bulls and bears. 😅

What’s really interesting is the flow data:

1️⃣ BTC spot ETFs saw cumulative net outflows of $386 million in early October. Wednesday was their worst day since June, with $485 million in outflows in a single day.
2️⃣ ETH ETFs fared even worse, with outflows for 9 consecutive days.
3️⃣ But XRP ETFs bucked the trend, attracting inflows for the 13th consecutive week, with cumulative inflows now at $1.8 billion.

The money hasn’t left the crypto market—it’s just changing positions. That matters far more than simply looking at charts.

Among altcoins, Starknet (STRK) rose more than 100% in a week, then jumped another 53% yesterday alone. Celestia and Aero also followed with double-digit gains—but trading volume briefly exceeded market cap. This looks more like short-term capital rotation than genuine demand, so be cautious about chasing the rally. ⚡

Tensions in the Middle East are driving oil prices higher, while macro factors continue to create uncertainty. The Fear & Greed Index has rebounded from extreme fear, but the market consensus is that this is a choppy market, not a trending one.

My view is simple: ETF outflows ≠ the start of a bear market. Institutional rebalancing and retail panic are two different things. At this level, rather than guessing the direction, it’s better to wait for a breakout above $84,200 or a drop below $82,000 and let the market provide the answer.
