Two security issues have surfaced at once: tampered Ledger devices have reportedly made their way to Europe, while RippleX has patched an overflow vulnerability in XRP ($XRP ).
According to NS3, the estimated losses are $93.4 million, with clues pointing to devices from an Asian distributor. European user Johannes said he bought a modified device from MediaMarkt, but his funds have not been transferred. Ledger has yet to confirm whether the European devices are linked to the same attack.
Separately, Veria Labs received a $250,000 bounty for discovering the overflow vulnerability. Co-founder Cayden Liao said the bug could have generated more than 18 trillion $XRP in a single transaction. There is currently no evidence that it was exploited. $XRP is trading at 1.4084 USDT, up 0.30% over 24 hours.
Both the scale of the losses and the potential minting amount remain unconfirmed, and the vulnerability has been patched. Until these reports are verified, they should not be treated as confirmed on-chain outcomes.
