According to CNBC, President Donald Trump named Katie Zacharia, a lawyer and conservative commentator at Trump Media & Technology, as the next White House press secretary. Trump said on Truth Social that Zacharia will start her term on Columbus Day and hold an introductory news conference on Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. from the White House press briefing room. Zacharia succeeds Karoline Leavitt, who left the Trump administration in late August and is expected to join Fox News as an on-air contributor next month. Her LinkedIn profile says she has worked since June as a senior communications advisor for Trump Media, which owns Truth Social, and that she also serves as general counsel at Fix California, a conservative activist group founded by Richard Grenell. It also shows she completed a two-month stint as a spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security in March.
